I study journalism, I´m finishing my second year on december so I haven´t been through all of my career courses. I also don´t know my study program very well, but I do know the basics: classes for writing, audiovisual classes, radio and investigative classes.
I personally think that we should have classes that teach about tools for investigative journalism since the sencond year, because it´s a very hard task and there´s a lot of different ways to gather important information, but not everybody remembers them.
One thing that I also feel my study program lacks of is more activities of doing stuff. It sounds confusing but let me put it this way: the first to years we go through the same writing structures over and over again but we write a very small amount. Sure, that´s because we write extensive things but I think that if (the first two years of the career) we write mostly short news or papers instead of two big projects for a class maybe we will have more opotunities to fail and learn.
The pandemic and quarantines haven´t been so helpfull to really enjoy the study program as it should be, but I hope next year we can experience it more as it should be: in a classroom, in the recording studio, in the tv room and doing more activities "in the streets", such as interviews, photography, etc.
